About Grid

Our History

A Proud Legacy of Success

Grid International (formerly Scientific Methods) was founded in 1961 by Dr. Robert R. Blake and Dr. Jane S. Mouton, two world-renowned pioneers in behavioral science who specialized in developing organizational cultures of excellence.

Drs. Blake and Mouton developed a worldwide network of consultants, co-authored more than 40 books, plus hundreds of articles; and provided consultation for governments, corporations, and universities globally. Their works and those of Grid International have been cited as part of the foundation of countless other publications, university programs, and management systems.

Our company was the world's first to institute an organizational development effort in a multinational corporation. Working initially with Exxon, Drs. Blake and Mouton perfected Grid solution consulting and demonstrated its ability to promote excellence.

Grid International has expanded this network to more than 40 partner offices around the world as we carry forward our proud heritage of continued development and refinement of our scientific methodology.

Grid's rigorously selected consultants work with a broad range of industries using our fundamental principles, which have proven to be ever-more vital in today's fast-paced and competitive workplace. While other programs and consulting fads have come and gone, Grid has endured because it is based on empirically proven truths of the impact of culture on profitability and success in organizations.
