The Grid Difference

Pre & Post Measured Results

"Only through a never-ending effort to override the automatic behavior of the past could a change in relationships even be a remote possibility."
-Robert R. Blake

One client said his Grid experience was like turning on a thousand-watt light bulb. "For the first time, I could see the whole room. And I could see all the obstacles." After you've been through Grid, in fact, you'll never see behavior the same again. You'll understand what's going on beneath the behavior, and this understanding will compel you to change.

Our founders were behavioral scientists that believed in scientific rigor and empirical evidence in all of their work. They perfected a scientific approach to developing culture that we have continued to adapt to the constantly changing workplace for five decades.

Measured Results

All Grid developments involve the client in how results should be measured. We measure each engagement at the start, along the way, and following on from completion. Measurement is done with different levels of rigor-from academically monitored and validated, to client measures, to anecdotal testimonial. Electronic means such as online meeting materials, surveys, electronic coaching, etc., form a key part of this work. Case studies are prepared on completion of each engagement.

We offer a variety of ways to take "benchmark" measurements of a workplace environment before culture development begins. This is a crucial stage often left un- or little-defined, making it difficult to accurately measure results. This benchmark data provides a way for clients to identify specific strengths and weaknesses. Then the real work begins.

Candor + Insight = Motivation to Change

A typical process starts by measuring what people value and how they see their own behavior, norms, and culture. These measurements provide a starting place for developing a shared view of ideal values and behaviors. With a clear picture of ideal conditions, we help people understand how the actual working environment compares. Our methodology reinforces each step with rigorous practice using candor skills and real-life work applications. Every individual can measure the results along the way, so the changes in attitudes become entrenched as company norms.

As candor grows in the organization, insight takes on the "thousand watt bulb" effect. People see behavior and action in a whole new light. They understand how their own behavior impacts results, and they have the skills to change. They also have the skills to help others change.

Grid empowers people at every level to lead change and constantly strive for their ideal working environment.
